This scanner is activated by pressing the red push button and the latest transponder number read is shown on the LCD (last number recall function).To scan for a microchip: the red button is held depressed while scanning and the reader will bleep if a microchip is found and display chip details. If no chip is found the reader will show "No Code". The reader will automatically switch off after 5 seconds of no use. ID codes are shown on the 2 x 16 character display, which has back-lighting. Under the latest Victorian Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Act and Regulations, ALL dogs and cats, including puppies and kittens, sold or given away by a Domestic Animal Business (as defined in the Act), are required to be microchipped.
